The 2016 World Cup season all comes down to Andorra. A fierce track situated close to the Pyrenees mountains. The Andorra Vallnord track is another rider favourite, with many riders quoting the World Cup had saved the best til last.
Fresh from the podium of Mont Saint Anne, Loic Bruni was looking fast and smooth all weekend. Hoping to have a solid weekend of racing ahead of defending his rainbow stripes at the upcoming World Championships... It was full speed ahead for Loic.
Loris Vergier was locked in a fierce points battle for the top 5 position which would come down to the final race. Looking for redemption after a fastest split time then puncture at Mont Saint Anne, Loris is forever a danger man on race day.
Junior Finn Iles was also locked in a points battle for the Junior World Cup title... With his competitors close by the title was Finn's to lose.
Impressive Qualifying results for Speciailized Gravity as Finn Iles takes the top spot by over eight seconds, extending his points lead into the finals.
Loris and Loic qualify in 8th and 9th respectively... with the rough track getting blown out and batter ready for Saturday's race.
Excitement grew as Loic took to the track- his final race of the season in his rainbow stripes, Loic looked unbelievably smooth and consistent. With the dust trailing in his wake, Loic put down the second fastest time jumping onto the hot seats awaiting the final riders.
Good pace for Loris but more bad luck as the fast Frenchman stopped against a tree near the top of the track. Never to recover his speed Loris takes 25th overall on the day.
Loic finishes the season with a double podium comeback - Finishing in 3rd.
Big congrats to Finn Iles - who although finished in 2nd on the day, lead the points race and is crowned 2016 Junior World Cup Champion! Stoked!
We're super proud to support Specialized Gravity throughout the whole 2016 season, we can't wait to see what the biggest race of the season has in store next weekend (11th September)
